You can find further information in the ODIS Service manual. You can find this after installation via a menu option in the
Windows start menu.
2 Hardware and software prerequisites
Prerequisite for using the ODIS Service diagnostics software is registration in the erWin portal (electronic repair and
workshop information). Please use the “erWin Info-Tour” menu option to call up further information about erWin.
The diagnostics software can be installed on VAS hardware (VAS 6150 from Index A or VAS 6160 series) or commercially
available laptops or PCs with Windows 7 (64 bit)/ Windows 10 (64 bit).
The diagnostics software can be obtained via the erWin portal on a data medium or as a download. A free licence and a
fee-charging usage authorisation (flat rate) must also be obtained from erWin to be able to use the diagnostics software.
These steps are described below in chapters 5 and 7.
To use the Bluetooth diagnostic radio head, VAS 5054, a Bluetooth module is required (already integrated in all vehicle
diagnostic testers).
The WLAN diagnostic interface VAS 6154 can be used as an alternative.
Further information on the original VAS hardware can be found in erWin under the Workshop Equipment option or from
your importer.
To use PassThru devices compliant with SAE J2534, install the suitable current driver for the diagnostics interface in use.
